JAMMU, June 25: PoJK 1947 Sharnarthis Intellectuals Forum held a meeting at Kud today under the chairmanship of its president Advocate, Amrik Singh in which the problems of PoJK refugees and the Sikh community of the State were discussed in detail.
The meeting demanded extension of Minority Commission to the State, release of remaining ex-gratia grant of Rs 25 lakh in one installment to DPs of 1947, reservation of eight seats for DPs of 1947. The four seats among them be kept for DPS of 1947, the meeting added.
It further demanded appointment of one member of the Sikh community as member JKSPC, one member of the community be inducted in State Cabinet after the formation of popular Government, implementation of Anand Marriage Act in J&K. The Forum made an appeal to Governor to give an audience to them so that they can discuss the demands with him.
The vote of thanks was proposed by general secretary of the Forum Surjeet Singh. Parmajeet Singh, Kuljeet Singh, Nasib Singh, Khazan Singh, Paramjit Singh Pammy, Darshan Singh , Kuldeep Singh Kuku, Har Asis Singh, Joginder Singh, P S Shingari and others attended the meeting.
