JAMMU, Jan 28: MLA Akhnoor, Rajeev Sharma today kick started the protection work at Namander Ghat in Akhnoor.
While addressing the gathering on the occasion, Sharma disclosed that the work will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 37 lakh.
The locals expressed their pleasure for taking heed of their long pending demands on priority.
Sharma assured the people that he will continue to lead Akhnoor on the path of progress.
Sharma lashed out at Congress leaders of the State. He said that they were opposing and creating obstacles in the path of development in the area. “It is unfortunate that State Congress had betrayed the people of Jammu when they were in power and now they are creating obstacles in development’’.
He said that he will expose them for their wrong policies during their rule.
On the occasion, political activists and supporters of the MLA including Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Ashok Mishra, Ajay Gupta, Rabinder Khajuria, Dayal Khajuria, Chaman Lal Gupta,Tarsem Lal, Surinder Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Shallu and Chander Udhay were also present.
