JAMMU, Jan 21: On birth centenary of Sanskrit Scholar late Dr. Uttamchand Shastri Pathak Ji, Panchang Calendar for the year 2023 was released here today in a programme organized by Shri Kailakh Jyotish Evam Vedic Sansthan Trust in Talab Tillo.
The calendar has been brought out by Mahant Rohit Shastri, Trust president.
The programme was presided over by Shri Nirmalswaroop Ji Maharaj, founder, Sanatan Shridhara Gaushala Sansthan Trust, Lower Gadigarh while Sham Lal Sharma, former Minister was chief guest; Virinder Singh Manhas, SSP AIG (P) PHQ was guest of honour and Saraswat Athithi and K.K Sharma, Director Agriculture Jammu and others dignitaries were also present.
The chief guest, Sham Lal Sharma said that Panchang is an astrological diary which gives useful astrological information.
Chief Patron, Swami Nirmal Swaroop Ji said: “In ancient times Jyotish emerged with the purpose of calculating time.”
Virinder Singh Manhas, SSP AIG (P) PHQ; Director Agriculture Jammu K.K Sharma and Mahant Rohit Shastri, Editor-in-Chief of Panchang Calendar and the sponsors of Panchang Calendar also spoke on the occasion.
On this occasion Secretary Red Cross Jammu, Sat Pal Sharma; SDPO Jammu City North, Sunil Kesar; Rakesh Gandotra, chairman SD Memorial Education Trust; Parveen Sharma, chairman Citizen’s Cooperative Bank Ltd; Uttam Chand Sharma, president Raja Mandlik Dev Asthan Patoli; Deepak Gupta, president Ware House Association Nehru Market; Narottam Sharma, JMC Councillor and others were also honoured for their contribution to the society.
