Sham kick starts work of Community Hall

JAMMU, Feb 16: Sham Lal Sharma former Minister and senior vice president J&K BJP kick started the renovation work and construction of Community Hall at Mata Sidh Lakshmi temple at Sector 2 Durga Nagar near here, today.
The function was organised by Teerathraj Nagbal Sidh Lakshmi Peeth Lok Bhawan Trust, under the guidance of religious scholar M.L. Pandita. On the occasion a Maha Yagya was also solemnized by the Trust. Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest while Kapil Singh Chib corporator, Ward-64 was the guest of honour and they were accompanied by Rajinder Singh Chib district president , Chand Ji Bhat district presidents Kashmiri Displaced District BJP, Bushan Lal Raina and Suresh Khajuria Mandal presidents, R.L. Raina, social activist, Sanjay Ganjoo, Chetan Wanchoo, spokesperson BJYM, Rakesh Bhagat, and Koushal Gupta.
They all including local people participated in Pooja -Archana to seek blessing from the Goddess Mata Sidh Lakshmi.
Sham Lal Sharma said that the entire infrastructure should be made in such a way that the visiting devotees whatever their number be should have a comfortable darshan and stay if needed. He also assured that there would be no shortage of funds at all in completion of the construction work.
The Prashad was distributed among the participants under the leadership of M.K.Raina president SLP Trust along with his team members. The vote of thanks was presented by T.K.Raina and Bharatji.
Meanwhile in connection with Magh Purnima known as Kaw Punim a religious function was held at Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsangh Ashram Muthi. The function besides a large number of devotees was attended by galaxy of saints and scholars.
A Hawan was also performed on the occasion which started yesterday evening and concluded this afternoon with Puran Ahuti. Swami Kumar Ji threw light on the importance of auspicious day.
Meanwhile, Athrot organised an online lecture on importance of festival of Magh Mass in which Sushma Koul Trakroo from Jalandhar, Pardeep Pandit from Gaziabad, Kanwal Peshin from Samba and R K Pandit and others delivered lectures highlighting the significance of festivals in Magh Mass with special reference to Gouri Trutiya and Kaw Purnima.
In her speech, Sushma while speaking on the significance of the festivals of Kashmiri Pandits stressed the need of organising such functions to keep the younger generation of the community abreast with their rich cultural heritage.
