JAMMU, Dec 5: Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Teg Bahadur, was observed with religious fervor at Gurdwara (Yadgar) Thakur Bhai Rocha Singh, in Sector 14, Nanak Nagar here today.
The programme was organised by Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in which large number of devotees participated, to seek blessings of great Guru, who sacrificed his life for the sake of the humanity and waged fight against forced conversion by Mughal king.
Istri Satsang Sabha Ragi Jatha of Bhai Surjeet Singh and Bhai Inderjeet Singh, Hazoori Ragi Jatha of Darbar Sahib recited the `Shabad Kirtan’. Bhai Surjeet Singh threw light on the sacrifices of Gugu Teg Bahadur. Dr Surjit Singh Raina, Kuldeep Singh chairman and Amrik Singh advocate also spoke on the occasion.
The programme was held under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh ji of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch. He also addressed the religious gathering and appealed to the community to follow the teachings of Guru Teg Bahadur.
A resolution was also passed on the occasion by the Sangat demanding that Govt should declare Gazetted holiday on Shaheedi Divas of this great Guru.
