Shabir fines doctors, para-medics for dereliction of duties

SRINAGAR, Sept 13: Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan today paid surprise visit to Primary Health Centre Kaller-Chatyar in Rajouri and imposed a fine of Rs. 1000 each on Block Medical Officer, two Medical Officers and Community Health Officer for dereliction of their duties.
He also directed Chief Medical Officer Rajouri to impose fine of Rs. 500 each on two Para-medicos, besides Rs. 300 each on two Nursing orderlies of the hospital for the poor show. He also ordered the concerned authorities to call the explanations of these negligent officers and officials and to ensure proper management in the hospital for the convenience of patients.
During the inspection, the Minister took stock of the functioning of the hospital. He went round each section of the hospital, enquired welfare of the patients besides receiving appraisal from them about the different health care facilities kept available by the Government for the convenience of the locals. He also directed the concerned to ensure all facilities to the patients as well as pregnant mothers and neonates. He underscored the proper sanitation in and around of the hospital.
He said that infrastructural facilities in the hospital would be upgraded adding that Rs 20 lakh have been granted by the Government for construction of additional accommodation of the hospital during current fiscal. He directed concerned authorities to ensure completion of all codal formalities for early taking up the hospital work.
