JAMMU, July 2: Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha (SGRDS) Bahu Fort Jammu today celebrated the 625th Prakash Utsav of Sant Shiromani Sat Guru Kabir Dass Ji Maharaj at Gurudwara Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj, Bahu Fort, Jammu.
The event was attended by heads of SC and OBC organizations, along with students from the community.
Several prominent individuals including, G R Bhagat, chairman of All J&K Sadhguru Kabir Sabha; Prof Chaman Lal Shivgotra, Charan Dass Shivgotra, Madan Lal Bangotra, Prof G L Thapa, and others, spoke about the life and mission of Sat Guru Kabir Dass Ji Maharaj.
Sham Lal Basson, President of Dalit Chetna Manch, emphasized the importance of following the path shown by Sat Guru Kabir Ji Maharaj, who promoted universal brotherhood, equality, and fraternity.
The presidents of various Sabhas also addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the occasion. The participating students were also honoured by the dignitaries.
During the event, a free medical camp was organized under the supervision of ortho specialist Dr Vias Dev, with Dr Amit Thapa and Dr Narinder Kumar examining the patients. Later, the participants were served the Guru ka langer (community meal).
Sham Lal Basson further emphasized that the emergence of saints and sages, particularly from common folk, has played a crucial role in the ongoing reformation of human society towards social harmony.
“Sat Guru Kabir Ji Maharaj, a great poet, thinker, and social reformer, holds a significant place in this tradition,” he said.
Dr Vijay Shivgotra extended a vote of thanks to all the participants and expressed special gratitude to the presidents of different Sabhas of SC and OBC organizations.
