RAJOURI, July 11: The police busted a sex-racket being run in Bela Colony of town here last night and arrested three police personnel (SPOs) and a girl hailing from Himachal Pradesh.
Reports said a few residents of the area who were keeping a watch for the last several weeks on the suspicious activities of some girls and unknown people visiting the rented house of a constable Mohd Hanief, informed SSP Rajouri about the matter. A police party rushed to the spot and caught SPO Rakesh Kumar and the young girl red handed from the room of the police constable.
While the cop escaped from the spot during raid, two more SPOs namely Mohd Sharief and Ismail were also arrested. The police said that they were said to be part of the racket. The residents of the area alleged that with the help of some cops, sex racket was going on for the last few weeks and several unknown girls used to visit this particular house.
SSP Rajouri, Mubassar Lattifi, when contacted said that three SPOs have been arrested and girl detained. After Medical examination, she has been placed under sustained questioning. It was being ascertained, how she arrived here and who brought her here.
The girl has also given a version that she was married in Kalakote area and had come to the house of relatives in Rajouri town. The investigation team was trying to find out his relatives here, if any. He said the possibility of these SPOs connected with the racket can not be ruled out and further investigation was in progress. A case FIR No. 360/2012 has been registered and some more people are likely to be arrested in this connection in near future, he maintained.
