Several villages continue to remain cut off due to landslide

UDHAMPUR, Sept 24: Inhabitants of village Chore Motto and adjoining hamlets continue to remain cut off from mainland for the last one month due to road blockage following landslide at village Baran, about 8 km from Dhar road at village Lakhari (Kamdhana) and worst condition of the road.
About 10 thousand villagers of Chore Motto, Chore Panjian, Gahar, Jofar, Marta, Lakhari and students of one High School, nine Primary Schools and three Middle Schools in the area re suffering because of the landslide and consequent blockage of the road, which is only surface link for them to Tehsil headquarters Majalta.
Alleging no action by the PWD and PMGSY authorities to remove the blockage and repair the road, locals of village Chore Motto and adjoining area also held a protest demonstration today and raised slogans against the district administration, PWD and PMGSY.
