Several organizations condemn grenade attack, lambasts Govt for ‘soft policy’

JAMMU, May 25: Strongly condemning last night grenade attack at Jammu Bus Stand, several organizations have lambasted the State Government for its alleged soft policy towards militants and anti-nationals.
A meeting of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, was held under the chairmanship of president B S Slathia, who strongly condemned Pakistan for carrying on the policy of enmity against India and harboring terrorists on her soil and using them to threaten life of the people and security forces in our State.
The Bar Association also took a very serious view of the failure of the present Coalition Government of Jammu & Kashmir in saving the lives and liberty of the people and security forces working in the State. The last night attack in the heart of Jammu city was not possible without support of some sleeper cells, besides the Rohingyas, the Bar observed and alleged that the Government has facilitated such elements to make their foot hold in the Jammu city and it is sure to pose a serious threat to the security of people in capital city of Jammu in future also.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Mahanagar today staged a strong protest against the J&K Government on the issue of bomb blast at Jammu Bus Stand and others terrorist attacks in the State after applying cease fire in J&K.
Activists of ABVP gathered at Parade, opposite Women College for protest and started a protest demonstration besides raising slogans against State Government, Chief Minister and the ceasefire move.
Addressing the gathering, ABVP State executive member Sonali Vaid alleged that the State Government was responsible for the unrest and law and order problem in Jammu Kashmir. She announced that ABVP would start State wide agitation if ceasefire is not withdrawn immediately.
Ruling BJP has expressed sympathies with the victims of the grenade attack at Jammu Bus Stand and condemned the efforts of inimical forces to disturb the peace and tranquility of the city of temples.
In a statement, Brig Anil Gupta, State spokesperson of the party, said that the enemy wants to exploit the fragility in the communal harmony by such provocative acts. “There is an urgent need for the police to operate pro-actively to detect and smash the over ground network including sleeper cells operating in Jammu to defeat the nefarious design of the inimical forces,” advised the spokesperson.
To lodge protest against last night grenade attack, Sunil Dimple, president Jammu West Assembly Movement, led an anti-Pakistan demonstration and torched Pakistan flag at Janipur High Court road, this morning.
The protesting people raised slogans and demanded to hand over Jammu Kashmir State to Army, dissolve the BJP-PDP Govt and impose the Governor’s rule in the State to stop the blood shed.
Addressing the protestors, Sunil Dimple alleged that the BJP-PDP Government has demoralized security forces by its unilateral policy on ceasefire and stopping the operation all out. “The grenade attack on the bus stand BC road has clearly indicated that the militants are present in the Jammu city and can attack any where they wish, he added and demanded a combing operation in the Jammu city.
Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Jammu and Kashmir, has also strongly condemned the grenade blast at Bus Stand Jammu and demanded that in view of the prevailing situation, the surveillance by the intelligence agencies should be intensified.
In a press statement, Shri Ram Sena State president Rajiv Mahajan observed that the last night grenade attack has created fear psychosis and panic among the devotees who were planning pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath and Mata Vaishno Devi in wake of summer vacations, when the Yatra is expected to be on peak this year.
He reminded Chief Minister to wake up from slumber and shun soft approach against enemies of peace and also stop advocating talks with Pakistan. If the prevailing situation continues, with in short time the whole State will have to pay a heavy cost for this, he warned.
