SRINAGAR, May 27: People in large numbers and scores of deputations today met the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here today. They brought their difficulties into the notice of the Chief Minister and sought their redressal.
A deputation from Shangus demanded completion of the pending regional water supply scheme and equipping the local hospital in terms of staff and machinery.
A deputation of hoteliers of the valley resented the negative campaign of Kashmir in a section of national media. They thanked her for putting their loans on one year moratorium in view of last year’s unrest. They also demanded placing tourism at par with other industries in terms of the incentives and concessions.
MLA, Tral, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah sought redressal of many developmental issues of the constituency. He sought that the people who suffered damages during recent law and order operations be compensated and protected.
Deputations of daily wagers and contractual employees of PDD, PDC and Forest Department also met the Chief Minister and sought regularization of their services.
A deputation from Achabal, Anantnag demanded inclusion of local areas into the tourist map of the State and augmentation of the local hospital.
A deputation from Banihal demanded development of a sports field at Lamber village, inclusion of the shrine of Hazrat Peer Dastgeer Sahib under the pilgrim tourism and equipping local hospital with latest machinery and adequate staff.
Deputation of Company Secretaries sought enactment of laws mandating appointment of Company Secretaries by big companies in the State.
A deputation of Kashmiri Pandits also met the Chief Minister and briefed her about the arrangements being made about Mela Khirbhawani. The Chief Minister told the deputation that all adequate arrangements have been put in place by the administration for the facilitation of the devotees coming to attend the mela at Tulmulla.
Deputations from Udhampur, Akhnoor and Billawar demanded pacing up of development activities and putting tourist places in their areas on the tourist map of the State.
Another deputation from Kunzer, Tangmarg demanded construction of road upto the shrine of Hazrat Syed Sahib (RA) at Zand Bagh and lift irrigation scheme at Lalpora.
A deputation from Turtuk sought renovation of the local Khangah, setting up of a model village and upgradation of road network in the area.
A deputation of scholars sought teaching of Kashmiri at middle and high schools, particularly the ones started under RMSA and RUSA.
Deputations from Nagbal, Wachi, Traders Union, Qamarwari and Reshi Bazaar, Anantnag also met the Chief Minister and sought redressal of their grievances.
