Several delegations call on LG: Ladakh

LEH, Jan 11: Several delegations today called on Lt Governor R K Mathur at Raj Niwas and raised issues concerning them.
A delegation comprising students and president of District Youth Congress, Kargil, Yousuf Ali Waresnal, met the LG and apprised him of the problems faced by around 75 students of Ladakh in obtaining their graduate degrees and certificates from Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur. They requested for intervention in resolving the issue.
The LG was also called upon by a delegation from Turtuk led by Naib Sarpanch Turtuk Farol, Rahmatullah. The delegation raised several issues, viz. the need for funds for the preservation of Balti tradition and culture, upgradation of Primary Health Centre Turtuk to Community Health Centre, sanctioning of solar-lift pumps at Kristhang and Turtuk Chuthang, issuance of Actual Line of Control (ALC) certificate, sanctioning of a circular road to Turtuk and link road to Nelithang under Special Development Package, sanctioning Tebay as a revenue village and sanctioning a Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Turtuk.
A delegation from Ladakh Brew led by Deachen Chusket and Jigmet Angmo also called on Mathur to inform about their initiative to promote Chhang, the local barley beer.
