RAJOURI, May 7: The police here has registered a case for child marriage against family members of a minor boy and girl and parents of both have been arrested by police.
A case FIR 237/2018 under Section 4-Infant Marriages Prevention Act 1985 (Read with Section 109 RPC) has been registered by Police at Police Station, Rajouri.
The case is related to child marriage of a boy aged about 9 years and student of 4th class (name withheld), son of Manzoor Hussain and 10 -year- old girl (name withheld).
Soon after coming to know about the matter, Rajouri police started investigation and established the crime after which cognizance has been taken and several person have been booked.
They include father and mother of boy namely- Manzoor Hussain, son of Haji Abdul and mother namely -Razia Begum, residents of Kalal Kass. Father of girl namely- Khadam Hussain, son of Nazir Mohammad and mother -Said Begum have also arrested. Some residents of Dalhori responsible for the marriage have also been booked by police.
