Seven bovines rescued

JAMMU, Dec 8: Seven bovines were rescued today from the clutches of two suspected smugglers by Jhajjar Kotli police.
“Early in the morning during naka checking at Suketar, officials of police station Jhajjar Kotli intercepted a Mahindra 407 vehicle bearing registration number JK19-3772 in which 7 bovines were being transported illegally to Srinagar,” a police official said.
He said that all the bovine animals were rescued while driver of the vehicle and his accomplice were arrested. “The accused were identified as Parvez Ahmed son of Abdul Rashid of Gujjar Basti (Anantnag) and Mohd Salim son of Mohd Musa of Dalwal (Ramban),” he added.
The official said that a case in this connection was registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli and further investigation started.
