Sesame oil falls further on lack of demand

NEW DELHI, May 10:  In restricted activity, sesame oil fell by Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today owing to lack of demand against sufficient stocks position.
However, other edible and non-edible oils moved in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said lack of demand against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on sesame oil prices.
In the national capital, sesame oil fell further by Rs 100 to Rs 9,300 per quintal.
Following were today’s quotations per quintal:
Oilseeds: Mustardseed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.
Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 1,120-1,340.
Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 7,450, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,900-1,950, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 7,350, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,290-1,370, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,375-1,475, Sunflower 6,300, Sesame Mill Delivery 9,300, Soybean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 7,600, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 7,400, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 5,750, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 6,400, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 6,950, Palmolein (Kandla) 6,600, Rice Bran (phy) 3,800 and Coconut (per tin)2,000-2,050.
Non-edible oils: Linseed 7,450, Mahuwa 4,000, Castor 9,500-9,600, Neem 5,300-5,400, Rice Bran 3,150-3,250 and Palm Fatty 3,200-3,300.
Oilcakes: Groundnut Dehusk 800-850, Sesame 950-1,150, Mustard (New) 1,000-1,025, Mustard 1,200-1,210 and Cottonseed 1,075-1,175. (PTI)
