DODA, Apr 9: A septuagenarian man and a minor girl were killed and three others were critically injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Khellani on Batote-Kishtwar highway.
As per police sources, five family members were on way to their home in Kishtwar when their car rolled down a hill near Khelleni on Batote-Kishtwar Highway and fell into a 150-feet-deep gorge today morning.
He said the locals and the police reached the spot and evacuated all the 5 passengers from the badly damaged vehicle.
The injured persons were rushed to District Hospital Doda, where doctors declared two injured persons as brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Liyaqat Kamal (70), son of Ghulam Ali and Tabish Banoo (10), daughter of Irshad Ahmed, duo residents of District Kishtwar, while the injured were identified as Zainab (7), daughter of Irshad Ahmed, Nusrat Begum (45), wife of Irshad Ahmed and Baby (3), daughter of Irshad Ahmed, trio residents of District Kishtwar.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Doda Police Station and investigation started.
