Senior Citizens Club launches ‘Warm Winter Programme’

UDHAMPUR, Dec 2: To provide blankets and winter clothing to the poor people at their door step, Senior Citizens Club Udhampur today launched its ‘Warm Winter Programme’ in the premises of the Jagriti Oldage Home’ Udhampur.
On the occasion, approximately fifty identified poor families, hailing from different villages of Udhampur district, were provided blankets.
Speaking on the occasion, President of the Club, Mahadeep Singh Jamwal apprized that Senior Citizens Club has established a ‘Winter Clothing Bank’ in the premises of the ‘Jagriti Oldage Home’ Udhampur and those who want to become a part of this noble cause can donate their excess clothing in the Bank. He further informed that a few more deserving families have been identified and Club will be providing them basic essential commodities of daily need on regular monthly basis.
Jamwal disclosed that the Club is in liaison with Sarpanchs and Panchs of the villages in identifying the actual deserving people and the programme ‘Warm Winter’ will continue till March 2020.
Chairman of the Club, Dr Adarsh explained the role of the Club as its social responsibility towards the society. Col Balwant Singh, Vice President of Club, presented vote of thanks and Raj Guru, General Secretary of the Club, conducted the proceedings.
