UDHAMPUR, Dec 2: Chenani Police today seized over 220 kg poppy straw from a truck, which was intercepted on the National Highway.
Based on a specific input, Police party led by SHO Chenani Paramjeet Singh, under the supervision of Santokh Raj Deol, SDPO Chenani, intercepted the truck number HR39B-3940, which was on its way from Srinagar towards Jammu. During checking, 7 bags containing 220 kgs of poppy straw were found concealed among the apple boxes.
Police seized the poppy straw bags and arrested the truck driver, identified as Sarwan Singh, son of Joginder Singh of Lalpura Taran Tarn. A case FIR number 128/2019, under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Chenani.
