Senior Citizens Club discusses proposed activities

UDHAMPUR, Oct 22: The Senior Citizens Club Udhampur held its monthly meeting under the chairmanship of its President Mahadeep Singh Jamwal.
The meeting was attended by executive body, Advisory Board and members of the General Body while Om Parkash Pandey, Ex-Principal Ayurvedic Medical College Maharashtra, participated as guest of honor.
Prior to the meeting, executive members held a meeting with DLSA chairperson and discussed various activities being initiated under the banner of the Senior Citizens Club Udhampur. Various problems faced by the general public of Udhampur town such as disposal of garbage, clean drinking water, drug menace, Polythene use, regular traffic jamming and other burning issues were discussed in detail.
On the occasion, the Club constituted its units for Ramnagar Tehsil with Ram Paul Choudhary and Rajinder Chand Anthal as organizers. Number of retired senior officers from different Government departments, including Ashok Kumar Gupta (Director ASD J&K), Kuldeep Kumar Gupta (Under secretary), Sham Lal Gupta (Joint Director Planning), Yash Paul Sharma (Dy Director Planning), Dr R C Nagar( Consultant Surgeon), R S Jamwal (Office Superintendent), Javed Iqbal Engineer, Dr Shashi Kant Ayush, Dr Uma Kant (Dy Director AHD), Naresh Gupta (Manager JKB), Susheel Nargotra and other prominent citizens including Arun Parkash Gupta, Ravi Kumar Buchcha, Mam Chand Mittal, Gopal Krishan Mahajan, Subash Kalsotra, Parkash Premi (Sahitya Acadmy Awardee), Shiv Nirmohi (prominent writer) took membership of the Club.
S K Gandotra (Ex-Joint Director School Education), Bharat Bhushan Gupta (Ex- Chief Agriculture Officer), Dr K C Sharma, Yash Paul Sharma (Ex-Deputy Director Planning), Arun Parkash Gupta (a leading business man of Udhampur) deliberated on the issues of senior citizens and suggested number of measures to be taken up by the Club in coming days. A colorful programme was also organized on the occasion.
