Excelsior team paid visit to the school today and talked to the students, school teachers and even the locals of the area. They narrated their woes and said that there is only one unsafe room for the students and staff. It is not possible to take 8 classes in single room by the teachers. The students are made to sit in the open under sun and during rain, the school is closed. During chilling winters many children get sick.
Teacher Mohd Riaz said that the contractor abandoned the work due to paucity of funds. The matter was taken up with the ZEO several times but the work could not be resumed. The students said during rain their studies affect badly but the Government takes no action. A local, Bashir Ahmed said that the matter was taken up with the ZEO, CEO and even the former local MLA from PDP but no body bothers about the plight of our children.
ZEO, Mohd Aslam Kohli, however, claimed that Department would lodge FIR against the contractor, who has not completed the work. He said the matter came to his notice and he would take up the same with the CEO as well.
