JAMMU, Apr 12: A one day seminar entitled “Remembering Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar-the maker of modern India” organised by SCST Cell University of Jammu was held here today.
The seminar was organised in collaboration with SCST Teachers Association University of Jammu.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof Umesh Rai, was the chief guest and Dr. Pravin Kumar Atul, Scientist from NIMR, ICMR, New Delhi was the Guest of Honor.
Prof. Umesh Rai, underscored the significant contributions of Baba Saheb Ambedkar to modern India. In his address, Prof Rai emphasized Dr. Ambedkar’s pivotal role in shaping India’s economic, constitutional, and educational policies, highlighting him as one of the foremost personalities of contemporary India.
He urged the audience to move beyond mere commemoration and actively incorporate the principles and values espoused by Dr. Ambedkar into their everyday actions.
He emphasized that true homage to Dr. Ambedkar lies not only in remembering him on his Birth Anniversary but in embodying his ideals of social justice, equality, and empowerment in our interactions and decisions.
Dr. Pravin Kumar Atul, highlighted the importance of association of animals and Humans.
He spoke on the contribution of Baba Saheb Ambedkar for the modern India as well as highlighted the role of Baba Saheb in propagating human values through Buddhism.
All members of SCST Cell and SCST Teachers Association University of Jammu, non teaching employees, Research Scholars and local guests were also present during the event.
Dr. Kajal Kalsi, conducted the proceedings of the programme.
