Seminar on ‘New Challenges & Avenues in Philosophy’ concludes at SMVDU

JAMMU, Mar 29: A two-day seminar on “New Challenges and Avenues in Philosophy” organized by the School of Philosophy and Culture, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra concluded today.
The chief guest of the inaugural function was Prof B Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishawvidyalaya, Bhopal Campus. A Khajuria, Registrar, SMVD University was the guest of honour, whereas the function was presided by Prof VK Bhat, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Academicians and Researchers from different parts of India came to participate in this event.
Prof B Labh, University of Jammu, Dr AV Ravishankar Sarma and Dr Jaison Vallooran, both from IIT Kanpur and Dr P Upendra, IIT Indore were the invited speakers.
There were altogether 16 papers presented in this seminar in the area of Logic, Moral Philosophy, Ontology, Epistemology, Metaphysics and Political Philosophy.
The participants and discussants included research scholars and MA students of Philosophy.
The event concluded with a valedictory session which was presided over by Dr VK Tripathi, Director of the School of Philosophy and Culture.
The seminar was successfully concluded and it was resolved that the proceedings will be published.
