UDHAMPUR, Sept 22: A seminar on Income Tax Awareness was held at Government Degree College (Boys), Udhampur, here today.
In the seminar, organized by the Income Tax Department, Kailash V K Singh, Addl. Commissioner of Income Tax, was the chief guest. He presented an overview of Income Tax scenario. “A challenge which the Income Department continues to face is that most people who fall in tax bracket don’t pay their taxes”, he said.
Rajeev Gubgotra, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, highlighted the importance of filing the return of income and appealed the people to file their return on taxable income.
On this occasion, an interactive session was held in which members of the Tax Bar Association, Chamber of Commerce, Contractor Association and other traders and business community of Udhampur participated.
The vote of thanks was presented by Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Income Tax Officer, Udhampur.
