Seminar on ‘Impact of Socio-Cultural Environment on Business’ held

JAMMU, May 25: Department of Commerce, Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu organized a one-day seminar on “Impact of Socio-Cultural Environment on Business” today.
The programme was organized under the patronage of Dr Surinder Kumar, Principal of the College. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the different elements of environment that promote the innovative and competitive edge of business. The whole programme was planned under the supervision and guidance of Prof Barbara Kaul, HoD Commerce. The main objective of the seminar was to educate the students about the impact of socio-culture environment on the growth of business.
The Seminar commenced with a welcomed speech by Prof Charandeep Handa. Prof Jyoti Bahl, Department of Commerce, GCW Parade, was the Resource Person on the occasion. She explained the meaning of business and the importance of stakeholders in the growth of business. She also elaborated the different types of Business Environment and put her focus on the effects of Social and Cultural factors on Business.
Among others, the seminar was attended by 80 students of BCom semester 4th and 6th as well as faculty members including Barbara Kaul, Prof Ashu Manhas, Dr Jagmeet Kaur, Prof Ramandeep Kaur, Prof Vaishali, Dr Sarabjeet Kour Sudan, Dr Shipra Gupta, Dr Rita Devi, Prof Kusha, Prof Sindhu Kotwal, Prof Rajni Bala, Dr Fayza, Dr Gurcharn Singh, Dr Jaswinder Singh and Dr Rajneesh.
Prof Rishu Mahajan presented the formal vote of thanks.
