Samba, Sept 16: Police today organised a seminar on disaster management at Govt. Degree College, Ghagwal in Samba district where hundreds of students of several Government & private schools, parents, teachers, prominent citizens, PRI members and police officers were present.
SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, Deputy SP Garu Ram, SHO Police Station Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan and Incharge Police Post Rajpura SI Hardev Singh presented certificates and cash rewards of Rs 10000, 6000 and 4000 to the first, second and third best student speakers namely Nandini Sharma of Govt. Higher Secondary School Ghagwal, Dimanshi Sharma of Jyoti High School Jatwal and Akriti Pandgotra of Govt. Girls High School Ghagwal respectively whereas five other student speakers who received certificates & cash rewards of rupees 2000 each include Samiksha Sharma of Tagore Institute of Education Harsath Ghagwal, Rudrakshi Sharma of Unique Public Higher Secondary School Jatwal, Anju Devi of Govt. Degree College Ghagwal, Sudershan Dakuya of Govt. Higher Secondary School Ghagwal and Ritika Baboria of Modern Educational Institute Ghagwal.
Hundreds of students of Govt. Degree College Ghagwal, Govt. Higher Secondary School Ghagwal, Govt. Girls High School Ghagwal, Govt. Higher Secondary School Ghagwal, Tagore Institute of Education Harsath Ghagwal, Unique Public Higher Secondary School Jatwal, Jyoti High School Jatwal and Modern Educational Institute Ghagwal participated in today’s seminar on disaster management. DDC member Suresh Kumar, Sarpanch Sangwali Tarsem Singh and Principal Govt. Degree College Ghagwal Sujata Slathia thanked the police for organizing seminar on disaster management at Ghagwal to generate awareness among students and public against disaster management. Additional SP Samba also spoke on the subject of disaster management.
On the occasion, Benam Tosh said that police is preparing students & youth to save precious lives in hours of disaster and infusing values like benevolency, participation in rescue operations and helping others at personal cost during crisis times.
