UDHAMPUR, May 3: On the occasion of Media Freedom Day, a Non Government Organisation (NGO) ‘Jiyo Aur Jeene Do’ organized Mehmood Memorial Seminar on the topic ‘Role of Media in Society’ at Government Middle School Barriyal, here today.
The objective of the Seminar was to highlight the role played by Media in the development of the society and all the participants expressed their views over the subject.
One of the participants Himanshu highlighted the rising impact of media in the society and said that the key of development of the society is in the hands of media.
Another participant Priyanshu credited media for making the society aware and alert, while Asiya, yet another participant called media as the mirror of the society and said that media is responsible for bringing social change.
While, Renuka Sharma, a participant from Government Middle School Barial praised media for its role in overall development of the society, many more speakers lavished praise on the role of media in building a healthy society.
The coordinator of the NGO and Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence, Swatantra Dev Kotwal also emphasized the role of media in the progress of the nation, while the School Headmistress expressed satisfaction over the efforts of the NGO in society building.
