JAMMU, Dec 11: To spread massive social awareness among people and parents in particular, Social Economic Environment Development Society (SEEDS) today organized a nukkad ‘Bachon Ki Awaaz’ at Village Chimna Chack, Bishnah.
The nukkad was conceived, written and directed by Rampaul Dogra, a well known writer and social activist. In the opening scene, Ramu, a student of Class 2nd carrying his heavy school bag on his shoulder reaches late in school. The class teacher beats him without knowing actual reason behind his late coming.
Before Ramu gives any explanation, the teacher beats him badly with a stick and Ramu fell down on the ground and gets bloody patches on his body. When teacher’s rage gets down, he orders his subordinate to present Ramu in his office chamber for further questioning.
Meanwhile, Ramu’s parents were too called to state reason behind his late coming. His parents explain that they timely send him to school but we don’t understand what is happening to him in the way.
When discussion was in full swing, village sarpanch also reaches there. With love he asks Ramu what is the actual reason behind his coming late. With Sarpanch’s soft spoken approach, Ramu breaks out and wept to full throat. He tells that he finds it difficult to carry such a heavy school bag and that is why he gets late daily. He also shows his backbone in arch shape.
Seeing all this, no one has answer for this atrocities. However, Sarpanch suggested that let the concerned authority be informed in writing about difficulties being faced by students for suitable solution. He further said the voice of students may also be listened patiently by school management and physical punishment never be used at all.
Those acted in the nukkad were Rampaul Dogra, Sushil, Jinda, Gulsan, Rinku, Ashwani, Dolly, Raman, Janak, Rimpi, Ricky, Satvir, Harman, Ranjit and others.
