JAMMU, Feb 14: Aam Aadmi Party’s Jammu unit has urged the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to fill up the vacant post of Hony Secretary, Red Cross Society of Jammu region.
In a press statement issued today, Dr Rajinder Thappa, senior AAP leader appealed the Lt Governor of J&K UT to appoint Hony Secretary of Red Cross Society Jammu Region on priority basis as post is lying vacant since more than two months. He pointed out that Red Cross Society secretary posts are presently lying vacant in almost all the districts.
He alleged that at Red Cross Sarai, Resham Ghar Chowk Jammu, the inmates/ patients are suffering due to lack of proper supervision and poor hygienic conditions. Most of them are cancer patients there. They are not getting even meals since more than a week because Manager of Sarai has left the post and Sarai is being run by the staff of lower rank. Charge of Hony Secretary of Red Cross Society Jammu Region is lying with a Govt officer who is unable to handle due to over burden. The staff is without salary for the last two months. There is strong need to appoint a suitable candidate as Secretary of Red Cross Society Jammu, without any more delay, he pleaded.
