BHADERWAH, Mar 15: Ashok Kumar Sharma, the Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Dharmarth Trust, today visited Bhaderwah to assess various issues related to Trust properties and those faced by locals.
Accompanied by Additional Secretary Varinder Singh Jamwal, Sharma first visited the Vasuki Naag Temple to interact with the Pujaris and the residents of Gatha village.
As per a statement, the Gatha residents apprised Sharma about the significance of a paddy field of Bhagwan Shree Vasuki Naagji Maharaj located near Fish Pond Road, where Hindus perform annual rituals before the sowing season and have darshans of Vasuki Naag Ji Maharaj in the form of Shesh Naagji.
The locals complained about people draining waste on the land, which holds religious importance, and demanded a protection wall to avoid encroachment in the future.
To address the particular grievance of the locals, Sharma met with ADC Bhaderwah Dilmir Choudhary to discuss the issue and later assured Gatha residents that their issue would be addressed soon. He also met with Dhanenter Singh, District Development Council Doda, and Advocate Naresh Gupta, Chairman of Dashnan Committee of Mela Patt, to discuss various issues related to the development of temples, Mela Patt, and Kailash Yatra.
Sharma also inspected the library situated in Hari Bhawan Complex in the premises of Shree Vasuki Naag Ji Dera Mandir and observed that the complex required repairs and whitewashing.
He also visited Ganesh Mandir at Ganpat Bazaar, Bhaderwah, Shree Gupt Ganga temple situated on the bank of river Neeru, and Mata Atharabhuja Mandir situated in Passri, Bhaderwah.
