Security grid intact along IB: J&K Police

JAMMU: Ahead of annual Amarnath Yatra scheduled to begin from July 2, Jammu and Kashmir Police today said that security grid along the international border in very much intact.

”The security grid in the hinterland and bordering hamlets is tight and further enhanced in view of upcoming Amarnath pilgrimage,” Ashkoor Wani, DIG Jammu Kathua Ranger told mediapersons at the sidelines of an interaction with media on the topic ‘How Police Should Work In The Eyes of Media.’

Mr Wani said, ”alert is always there on the border, but special vigil is being maintained on specific inputs.” ”Militancy at present across Jammu region is almost ”zero” but still security has to be maintained as preventive and safety measure,” said the top cop.

He asserted that presently there are no specific infiltration inputs or threat along the border but security grid in very much in place. (AGENCIES)
