Security Forces celebrate Independence Day

JAMMU, Aug 16: Army and Security Forces celebrated 69th Independence Day with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm by organizing impressive functions in this regard.
Rashtriya Rifle Battalions under Romeo Force celebrated Independence Day with the locals of twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch at various locations Palma, Thanamandi, Manjakote, Basoni, Baisali, Daraba, Chhatral, Mendhar, Jhullas and Potha.  The cultural programmes organized at these locations included patriotic songs, group dances, Gazals, and speeches on the struggle by our freedom fighters. A special program on similar lines was organized at Nari Niketan in Mendhar. In addition to this, furniture was distributed to various Government Schools at Mohala Tarkhana, Khala Parat, Satwal Kota and Karna Parat. The furniture provided included chairs, tables and double seater desks.
This event provided an excellent forum for the youth to display their talent and showcase vast cultural heritage of our nation.
Rashtriya Rifles Battalions under Delta Force celebrated Independence Day   all across the Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts. Army troops and locals of the area joined hands in celebrating the occasion and renewed their pledge to continue their efforts in fighting militancy and enhancing the social and economic development in the Ramban District. The occasion was marked by various functions organized by Rashtriya Rifles in the remote areas of the region where the National Flag was hoisted and stationery items and sweets were distributed among children. The villagers in these areas turned out in large numbers waiving tri-colour flags and a sense of enthusiasm and pride was seen on the cheerful faces of the young and old alike.  Many competitions for young students like Essay writing, Painting, and motivational lectures were organized in all schools of the district by Delta Force. Young talents in theses competitions were felicitated later.
The 69th Independence Day was celebrated by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion based at Talwara and Jhangar under the aegis of Uniform Force RR Headquarter based at Reasi.
On the occasion, a painting competition, blood donation camp, motivational lecture and essay writing competition were organized at Talwara and Jhangar.  The event also aimed to extend awareness amongst students and youth hailing from remote and far flung areas regarding provisions to join Indian Army after completion of high school/college.
Indian Army under the aegis of ‘Forever in Operations’ Division celebrated Independence Day  with the differently abled children of Kargil at a school of them, being run by Army  as a humanitarian venture. On the occasion of this national festival, National Flag was hoisted and cultural programme by these special children was organized.
The school is the only institute of its kind in Ladakh region, imparting specialized training to almost 54 differently abled children from Kargil villages, who are suffering from various ailments which prevent them from leading a healthy normal life.The Army Goodwill Schools of Kargil region, i.e. AGS Farona, Dras, Haraka Bahadur and Badgam also celebrated 69th Independence Day.
Independence Day was also celebrated in Frontier Headquarter BSF Jammu with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Many functions and events were organized on this auspicious occasion.  Rakesh Kumar, IG BSF hoisted the National Flag at BSF stadium, Paloura in the presence of officers and jawans. He also reminded the BSF men about the supreme sacrifices made by the freedom fighters to liberate our motherland from the yoke of the foreign rulers.
In the premises of BSF School Paloura, the children presented a thrilling and colorful cultural programme with full of patriotic emotion. IG BSF Jammu Frontier along with all officers and Jawans of Headquarter Jammu Frontier witnessed this eventful function.
In this series, IG BSF Rakesh Kumar visited hospital and distributed fruits and gift among the patients.
Independence day was also celebrate by the BSF personnel deployed on the border and LOC with equal fervor and enthusiasm .Men and officers pledged to continue to work for safe guarding  the sanctity of border and territorial integrity with complete devotion.
137-CRPF Battalion, Udhampur, Jakhani, also celebrated Independence Day. Commandant Mukesh Kumar unfurled the National Flag and delivered inspirational speech. The CRPF Battalion Jawans presented patriotic songs and cultural items. The function concluded with the singing of National Anthem.
Independence Day was also celebrated at PTTI Vijaypur where SSP Ranjit Kanwar (Principal) hoisted the National Flag in presence of SP V K Jamwal (Vice-Principal), Dy SP Madan Lal and others.  Contingents of Police personnel and trainees held March Past. Sports events like Mass PT, Tug of War and Volley Ball matches were also organized on the occasion besides presentation of cultural programme by the school children. The programme concluded with a prize distribution function.
