Secular character of J&K is at stake: BSP

JAMMU, Oct 30: State president, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Tulsi Dass Langeh said that the secular character of J&K is at stake.
He said this, while addressing a meeting organized by Ravinder Singh Pappu at Barzala, Gandhi Nagar.
Langeh asked the Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to formulate the policy and programme with active participation of civil society for creation of congenial atmosphere in the State to avoid further mass migration of minority communities from other parts of the State.
He added that arrangements should be made for the return and rehabilitation of the people, who migrated from Kashmir.
He also asked the Government to ensure that Kashmir and Kishtwar like incidents should not happen in future so that the old age secular character of J&K could be maintained.
He appealed the Kashmiri leadership as well as their allied leadership from Jammu region of NC, PDP, Congress and all party Hurriyat Conference not to slaughter cows for the sake of sacrifice.
Among others present were Pawan Gupta, State general secretary and Rattan Kumar Bhagat, State treasurer.
