JAMMU, Aug 28: J&K Civil Secretariat (Non-Gazetted) Employees Union and Civil Secretariat Lower Grade Employees Union have expressed grave concern over the Government Order No 168-PDD of 2012 dated June 1, 2012 pertaining to payment of electricity bill of Secretariat employees and to register their protest they have decided to observe 2-hour pen down strike today.
In a meeting of the coordination committee held here, the speakers showed their concern against the attitude of Power Development Department (DPP). They said that on one hand negotiations are going on this matter with the Government and on the other hand, PDD is harassing the employees residing in Government colonies by disconnecting power supply.
It was also resolved in the meeting that the time has come when Civil Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Union and Lower Grade Employees Union should exercise their constitutional right of registering their concern publicly for unsolved employees’ demands.
The meeting called upon all secretariat employees to observe two- hour pen down strike tomorrow (August 29) irrespective of ranks and files to remind the Government for his promises and assurances given to the employees to solve their various grievances and demands including rescinding of Government order No 168-PDD of 2012 dated June 1, 2012, restoration of order No 4-PDD of 2007 dated January 10, 2007 with some review and reorganization of Secretariat services.
