JAMMU, Oct 15: In reference to the two news items, published in Daily Excelsior, dated 12-10-2016 and 14-10-2016, Secretary of Jammu Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL), Aziz Hajini has claimed that Dogri was not neglected in the newly formed Central Committee and its meeting on October 4 did not lack the quorum.
In a clarification, issued today, Hajini said that the process of re-constitution of the Central Committee of JKAACL was started in December 2015 when official members of the Central Committee and General Council were nominated. “The only member among the nominees of the Government on the General Council from the writers’ fraternity of the State is Dogri writer Prof Champa Sharma and the non-official members, co-opted for the Central Committee in the recently held meeting, are from the designated categories as enshrined in constitution of the Academy,” he said and added that due representation has been given to all the three regions of the State as provided in SRO 340.
“Due care has been taken to give adequate representation to Dogri language within permissible limits. Resultantly, the Central Committee in its recent meeting, has nominated three additional members on the General Council from Dogri language. Thus we have four representative of Dogri language in the General Council,” he added.
Further, Hajini has claimed that Central Committee meeting on October 4, did not lack the quorum since Administrative Secretary Information Department, Administrative Secretary Department of Culture and noted journalist Mohammad Sayeed Malik were nominated as members in terms of Government notification, dated 11-12-2015.
