JAMMU, Sept 17: Security forces, paramilitary and police today conducted joint search operations in border belt and other areas of Samba district following Intelligence inputs about infiltration attempts by the militants and strike on the National Highway.
“As a precautionary measure, Army schools and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) were closed. Some private educational institutions also close down their schools,” official reports said.
However, there were no trace of militants anywhere in the border areas and other parts of Samba district and Jammu-Pathankot National Highway where vehicles were also subjected to random checking.
The searches were conducted in all border areas of Samba district, reports said, adding that security forces and paramilitary personnel were also involved in the search operations.
There had been inputs that the militants were trying to infiltrate into Samba from the International Border to carry out a terror attack.
