MENDHAR, Mar 31: Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mendhar Rahul Yadav has initiated action as the office of Social Welfare Department (SWD) was found locked during mid day today.
Official sources said that SDM initiated action after he and Tehsildar Mendhar, Shahzad Khan received public complaint that office of TSWO was locked at 1 pm. Some handicapped and old age pensioners had come to the Tehsil office and were waiting for the staff outside. After long wait they reported the matter to senior officers in the Administration. On receiving complaint, the SDM asked the Tehsildar to hold inquiry and submit report.
Tehsildar sent Naib Tehsildar, Aftab Hussain Shah along with two more Revenue officials to the office. They reached there at 1.15 pm and found that the office of TSWO was locked. While the post of TSWO is lying vacant there for the last several months, Superintendant Champa Sharma of local Nari Niketan attached with the local office, Senior Assistant Zafar Iqbal and other staff was also found missing. Naib Tehsildar submitted the report to the Tehsildar after visit and Shahzad Khan further forward it to the SDM for further action.
SDM Mendhar when contacted said that action was initiated after he received public complaint. A Revenue officer was sent there to the office to verify the complaint which was found genuine. He said that action under law is being taken against the erring officials of the Social Welfare department.
