Agitating Contractual Lecturers threaten to gherao ministers

JAMMU, Mar 31: As the ongoing hunger strike by Contractual Lecturers (10+2), entered into 46th consecutive day without any positive response from the Government,  the agitators have threatened to further intensify their struggle and gherao the ministers.
These agitating Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010- a policy framed for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/ Contractual/Consolidated employees after rendering seven years of services.
These Contractual Lecturers are sitting on hunger strike near Press Club. One of them, Seema Rajput,  who is on fast unto death  since March 12, has been  admitted in GMC hospital Jammu for treatment. Another protester  Balvinder Kour, who was also admitted in GMC Jammu, was discharged today from hospital.
Sheraj Choudhary ,  Rakesh Kumar Sharma,  Saroj Bala and  Reva Rani began their chain hunger strike today  and threatened to convert it into fast unto death if the Government does not consider their demand.
While addressing  the protest dharna, Arun Bakshi , State president of (10+2) Contractual Lecturers Forum, warned to further intensify the ongoing struggle if the Government does not concede their demand in next two days. Giving reference of  Government orders on their appointment, he justified the demand of regularization.
