KATHUA, Sept 30: SDM Hiranagar, Sohan Lal Sharma today conducted a surprise checking in the markets of Hiranagar and Dayala Chak to ascertain that the customers are not being charged exorbitant rates by shopkeepers during festival season.
The SDM who was accompanied by officers of CAPD and Municipal Committees inspected Kiryana shops, confectionaries and dhabas. He also made on spot fine to various dhaba owners using domestic LPG gases for commercial purposes and destroyed unhygienic food items.
