Scrap dealer among 6 arrested with Rs 1 lakh stake money

JAMMU, Sept 21: Police busted a gambling den with the arrest of six persons including a scrap dealer along with Rs 1 lakh stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, a joint team from Police Station Bahu Fort and Police Post Narwal conducted raid in Yard Number 4 Transport Nagar and apprehended six gamblers along with Rs 1,00,400 stake money and playing cards.
The arrested persons were identified as scrap dealer Rakesh Gupta alias Rakesh Kapadia, son of late Karam Chand Gupta of Old Rehari, Gurjeet Singh, son of Tajinder Singh of Govindpura Satwari, Ajeet Singh, son of Karan Singh of Bhatindi, Purshotam Dass, son of Charan Dass of Chatha Farm, Harsimran Singh, son of Rajinder Singh of Sant Nagar Upper Gadigarh and Sukhdev Singh, son of Maan Singh of Tekri Simbal Camp.
Cognizance under section 13 Gambling Act has been initiated by the police against the arrested gamblers.
Police team led by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by Incharge Narwal Police Post SI Vikas Jasrotia made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO East Bikram Kumar, SP South Deepak Digra and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
