Schools with internet coverage

“Luxury” of one time becoming a necessity now , is all due to the fact that the world is changing fast and no one can afford not to pull along . Classrooms in schools are having a flight from conventional mode to more of digital mode . It won’t be an exaggeration to admit that the COVID pandemic has taught us the importance of self reliance and the wonderful fastest mode of communication– the internet. Internet connection, and that also of latest fastest version ,therefore, has become a necessary requirement to be provided in our Schools . What is the position about it across the country, we must have the requisite date in order to pilot schemes accordingly, the thrust being on hitherto neglected rural areas.
The latest data that merely 10 percent of the schools in the country are connected with internet, out of which Jammu and Kashmir has barely 6 percent of “achievements” in the vital aspect, was shared by the Union Minister in the Lok Sabha recently. That must cause due concern . How Chandigarh could achieve 100 percent coverage followed by Lakshadweep with 94 percent etc must be studied as “test cases” of success stories and implemented in rest of the states and the UTs including the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
