Jammu, Dec 16: In an exhibition cricket match played at Govt higher secondary school ground Akhnoor, Singh Cricket Club defeated Media-XI by 9 wickets.
The match is organized by the Singh Cricket Club at Govt higher secondary school ground Akhnoor.
After winning toss, Media- XI elected to bat first and made 108 with losing all 10 wickets in 16.2 overs. Amit Kumar scored highest 38 runs in 29 balls while Amit Sudan scored 23 in 15 balls.
For SCC side, Sham Singh Langeh took 4 wickets by giving 29 runs in 4 overs while Sunil Sharma took 3 wickets by giving 25 runs in 3.2 overs.
Chasing target, SCC managed to score 109 runs and won the match with 9 wickets in hand.
Shanty played highest 57 runs in 30 balls while Jimmy scored 18 runs in 10 balls.
Sunil Bali from Media -Xi took lone wicket for his team.
Sham Singh Langeh was adjudged as the man of the match for bowling performance.
Former Minister and Sr. vice president JKPCC Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest during the match.
Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal said Jammu and Kashmir has no dearth of talent but youth only need platform.
Complementing Media -XI for promoting sports and initiating the movement against drug, he said such association need to be boost and Government should financially help such sports club for larger cause.
Later, the Chief Guest also distributed trophies and mementoes to players of both teams.
Vikas Bali and Dibya Sharma were the field umpires, while Ashwani Magotra maintained the scoreboard. Atul Sudan was the commentator of the match.
