JAMMU, Sept 4: Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India N V Ramana has recommended the names of two Judicial Officers Mohan Lal Manhas and Mohd Akram Chowdhary to the Union Government for appointment as Judges of the Common High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
In December last year, the J&K High Court Collegium had recommended names of these two senior most Judicial Officers for elevation as High Court Judges.
Mohan Lal is presently Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu while as Mohd Akram Chowdhary is Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar.
Meanwhile, consultation is on in respect of another senior-most Judicial Officer Rajesh Sekhri, whose name was recommended for elevation by the J&K High Court Collegium in the month of July this year. Presently, he is Member J&K Special Tribunal Jammu.
