NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court today closed the case against Bollywood actor Govinda after he tendered an unconditional apology to the apex court and to the complainant, Santos h Rai, in the 2008 slapping case.

A division bench of the top court, headed by Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel and also comprising Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, closed the case after Govinda tendered an unconditional apology.

The apex court took into record the unconditional apology tendered by Govinda and closed the case. Rai had registered the case against Govinda in the case.

Rai, in his complaint, stated that when he had gone to see a film shooting of Govinda’s “Money hai toh honey hai”,  the Bollywood actor had allegedly slapped him.

The incident happened in January 16, 2008, in Filmistan studio in Goregaon in Mumbai.  (AGENCIES)
