JAMMU, Feb 16: A loan mela was organized by State Bank of India, Region-III, J&K Module at the Town Hall, Kathua, today.
The District Development Commissioner Jatinder K Singh was the chief guest and Surinder Kumar Kapoor, Regional Head, Region-III, J&K Module was the guest of honour. The mela was inaugurated by Jatinder Kumar Singh in the presence of Surinder Kumar Kapoor.
Large number of people from different walk of life thronged the mela. A colorful culture programme was displayed by the school children of Kathua. Kapoor welcomed the people and asserted that the State Bank of India has decided to reach out to the masses. He informed the gathering about the different schemes of the bank like KCC, Krishi Loans, Home Loans, Car Loans, Commercial loans and Loans under CGTMSE.
He emphasized that the people should make full use of the opportunity provided by the bank. Jatinder K Singh welcomed the people and praised the initiative shown by the State Bank of India in reaching out to meet the various needs of the common man. There was huge rush at the different stalls installed by the different branches. The people made enquires about the loan schemes as per their needs and the bank officials present apprised them about it all. 252 loan cases up to the tune of 7.05crore were sanctioned on spot in the mela itself.
The sanction letters were distributed by the worthy Regional head Kapoor on the spot to the borrowers.
