SBI donates Critical Care Ambulance to Army Hospital

LEH, Sept 13: State Bank of India donated today a Cardiac and Critical Care Ambulance to Army General Hospital (153 GH) under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project.
The Ambulance was handed over to Lt Gen YK Joshi, GOC Fire & Fury Corps, by SBI Chairman Rajnish Kumar for its utilization by 153 GH, in the presence of senior officers of “Fire & Fury” Corps and SBI.
The Cardiac and Critical Care Ambulance will be of great help to the defense clientele, ex-servicemen and civil persons during emergencies and natural calamities and will go a long way in upgrading life saving facilities in the difficult terrain of Ladakh.
“The relationship between and Army and SBI is inseparable and there is strong bonding between the two organization and this is a token of gesture to Army to express our gratitude” said SBI Chairman Rajnish Kumar while speaking on the occasion.
He added that SBI has vast network and presence even at forwards locations as well as in remote village where army family resides and SBI serve the people with pride and motto of the bank is to serve the people with sincere dedication. He also informed that SBI foundation has adopted 60 villages for holistic development.
Lt Gen YK Joshi said that 153 GH is the apex service hospital providing medical cover to over one lakh soldiers of 14 Corps Z who are posted at High Altitude Area, and also a significant population of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and civilians including tourists who are being provided medical assistance at this hospital.
“Low oxygen pressures and extreme cold conditions lead to increased risk of High Altitude Diseases including cardiac diseases such as heart attacks and heart failure, which require immediate evacuation of these patients to hospital providing definitive care,” Lt Gen Joshi said, adding, positioning of a Cardiac and Critical Care Ambulance at 153 General Hospital, Leh would save valuable time as medical intervention can be undertaken early within the vehicle by trained staff, thereby saving the precious lives.
