JAMMU, Mar 31: Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney and Vice President of the Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) Pranav Shagotra conducted extensive tour of Jammu East Assembly segment and sought support for Congress candidate Madan Lal Sharma.
Sawhney and Shagotra conducted door to door campaigning in W. No. 19 and visited Chand Nagar and Qasim Nagar areas of Jammu East Assembly.
During the campaign, both Sawhney and Shagotra urged the people to vote for Congress candidate because Congress is the only party which believe that India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity and want all people from all parts of the country to live happily throughout the length and breadth of India.
They further said that UPA-I and UPA-II have liberally allotted funds to be utilized by the alliance Govt. in J&K for the welfare of the people. The State has successfully implemented central schemes like MNREGA, IYA, RYA and strengthened the Panchayati Raj System in the State by implementing 73rd Amendment of the Indian Constitution in the State.
Congress leaders educated the people about various schemes launched by the Congress UPA Government for the betterment of the all sections of the society. They especially mentioned that decision of the State Government to extend 73rd Amendment of Indian Constitution to J&K was the biggest achievements of Congress Party.
They said that Congress is the only party which has a vision to solve problems of the all regions and sub-regions of the State.
Congress leaders also demanded ownership right for allottees of the custodian property in Jammu.
Calling upon the people to strengthen hands of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and AICC vice Rahul Gandhi, they said that it was result of the vision of Congress leadership that various revolutionary steps have been taken by the UPA Government. They especially mentioned Right to Food and Right to Education schemes of the present UPA regime.
Later addressing a meeting of Youth Congress workers at Jammu West, Mr Shagotra exhorted Youth Congress workers to educate people about the achievements, policies and programmes of the UPA Government.
