Satpal elected Poonch Brahmin Sabha president

POONCH, June 7: Satpal Sharma has been elected (unopposed) as new president of District Brahmin Sabha, Poonch in a general meeting of Brahmins biradari at Maa Ann Purna Temple here today.
The meeting of Brahmin community from across the district was held at the Ann Purna Temple here to discuss the issues related to Brahmin community and future course of action of district Brahmin Sabha. All the prominent Brahmin leaders, religious teachers and public in general in one voice elected Satpal Sharma as new president of the Sabha and Darshan Kumar Sudan as new general secretary.
The District Sanatan Dharam Sabha had recently constituted an adhoc committee to run the affairs of the Brahmin Sabha after the resignation submitted by the previous Sabha members. All the people present in the general meeting expressed faith on the adhoc committee constituted by the SD Sabha and approved it in one voice by raising hands on the occasion.
Pt Gopal Sharma and Pt Viney Kumar spoke on the duties of Brahmins by giving various quotes of Shri Bhagwat Geeta and Vedas.  They also described duties of 4 Varnas in the society. Prominent Brahmin leaders while speaking on the occasion highlighted the reasons causing degradation in the moral and religious values among the new generation. They stressed on the need to strengthen the Brahmin Sabha for its timely intervention and guidance by organizing value based and religious functions.
Newly elected president thanked all the participants for showing their faith on him and assured them that he would work as per their expectations to uplift the community.
The other office bearers of Sabha included Ramesh Kumar and Shashi Bala- vice presidents, Advocate Chanan Lal – legal advisor, Neetan Sharma- organizer, Neetan Rishi- storekeeper, Anuj Sharma- cashier and Sandeep as assistant cashier. Some other members were also as publicity secretary.
