JAMMU, June 7: Santosh Shah Nadan’s new book titled Mukhtas Karen Maleh was released at an impressive function at K L Sehgal Hall in presence of a galaxy of writers and scholars here today.
The function was organized by Adbi Kunj Jammu in collaboration with Adbee Markaz Kamraz Jammu Wing. The function was presided over by S S Anand Lehar, a Supreme Court advocate and a renowned writer. He highly exclaimed the book and termed it a great contribution of the Mrs Nadan.P N Trisal and Dr R L Shant were guests of honour.
The book is a translation work of Mrs Nadan a prominent Kashmiri poet, writer, orator, critic, translator and singer. She has explained the Shrukhs in Devnagri, Persian and English scripts.
The speakers said that it is the first literary work of this kind which has successfully achieved. She has completed work under the guidance of literary genius persons like Lt. R K Bharti, T N Jiguasu and B K Munshi. It took Mrs Nadan six long years in completing the literary work and she successfully achieved her task, they added.
Presenting his paper Dr R L Shant a renowned writer termed Santosh Nadan an artist of literature who wanted to present the verses of Nund Rishi in a simple Kashmir and she did it. He said the name of the book was also suitably given by the author. Her translation work shows that she is a great scholar, Dr Shant added.
Asser Kishtwari another well known writer and historian critically evaluated the book in the back drop of history of Islam in Kashmir. He said Sheikh Noor –u-Din was a man of God who not only worked for teaching of Islam but contributed to Kashmiri poetry through his versus called as Shruks. He lauded Nadan for her pains taking work.
In his welcome address Sham Talib president Adbi Kunj gave brief account of literary activities of the organization and highlighted the literary works of Nadan.
The proceedings were conducted by Vijay Wali and vote of thanks was proposed by Asseer Kishtwari.
