JAMMU, Mar 15: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) started works for covering of deep drains between areas of Pacca Talab and Sarwal areas of Ward 18 & 17 along with coporators Dinesh Gupta & Nidhi Mangotra. Sharma was also accompanied by Mandal president, Raveesh Mengi, local residents and political activists of the area.
The works will be executed under the supervision of Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) at an estimated cost of more than Rs 13 lakh and deep drains (Nullah) of Sarwal and Pacca Talab will be covered under the same. The work has already been started and two stages were completed. The works of third stage were started by the leaders today.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the works are dedicated to support the “Swach Bharat” vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi who always mention in his speeches to keep the surroundings neat and clean. He said that cleanliness is one of the important tasks which is also challenge for us as without cleanliness in the surroundings, there is always existence of diseases which is very harmful for the people. He stated that people must come together to promote cleanliness everywhere so that we can fight pollution and diseases as recently one of the deadly viruses has spread and to fight such things we all have to come together, he added.
Dinesh Gupta complimented the former MLA for taking up the most important works in the area as before the construction of the same the area suffered with many irregularities including foul smell of drains, garbage lying outside Nullahs and other things which will be improved after the construction of the deep drain.
Nidhi and Raveesh stated that every work done under the tenure of former MLA depicts that Jammu West progressed a lot in last five years and will keep developing under his leadership.
Sangeeta Gupta, Sanjay Bhat, Munish Raja, Kailash Sharma (Karan), Ashok Gandhi, Sunita Arora, Ram Pyari, Krishan Sarmal, Vikas Bali, Manu Bali, Narinder Gupta, Pritam Lal, Kapil Chadha, Ramesh Gupta, Sanjay Kumar, Ankush Bakshi, Reetiz Khajuria and several others were also present.
