Sat starts construction of deep drains

JAMMU, Apr 9: With a mission to provide cleanliness everywhere and promoting the vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi of building a “Swachh Bharat”, BJP State president and MLA Jammu, West Sat Sharma (CA) inaugurated the covering of deep drain (Nullah) at Gurha Bakshi Nagar area of Ward 28 today.
Pertinent to mention, the works for construction of wall were taken in first phase and now the deep drain is being covered so that foul smell and garbage could be stopped in order to build a conducive and clean atmosphere in the surroundings of the area where hundreds of people are living.
A large number of people including officials of UEED, local residents and political activists were also present on the occasion.
The works will be constructed under the supervision of UEED at an estimated cost of Rs 34 lakh and a major stretch of nullah will be covered under the same.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it is his priority to create such an atmosphere in Jammu West Assembly segment which makes it clean and green amongst all constituencies in State and for this he urged the masses to contribute so that goal of making the environment free from all ills caused by pollutants is achieved.
He said that people have to be eyes and ears of their representatives in every nook and corner and wherever there is a dire need of taking up developmental works should be informed at instant so that works could be taken up in the area immediately.
He stated that all 26 wards of the Assembly segment are on his priority list and every ward is almost completed in terms of development and in coming times every ward will bloom as most developed wards in the State which will surely give a major boom to Jammu West in becoming model constituency of the State.
He asked the masses to trust him concerning development and stated that no area will be left behind under his tenure and he also appealed everyone to come forward in promoting the noble cause of “Swachh Bharat” as it requires not only the initiative of the representative but public as a whole which will ultimately help in building a clean and green nation.
